Author is accomplished but the book is Too boring, preachy and self absorbed I have watched WWYD, and John Quinones appears to be a man of great caring and integrity This book is a presentation of the values and beliefs that guide his life they are the beliefs and values of his upbringing They are the beliefs and values that stimulate and guide the simulations in WWYD The book is written in a straight forward fashion in many ways the guiding values of which he writes are those that often receive fleeting lip service or are bemoaned repeatedly as lacking or only foun I have watched WWYD, and John Quinones appears to be a man of great caring and integrity This book is a presentation of the values and beliefs that guide his life they are the beliefs and values of his upbringing They are the beliefs and values that stimulate and guide the simulations in WWYD The book is written in a straight forward fashion in many ways the guiding values of which he writes are those that often receive fleeting lip service or are bemoaned repeatedly as lacking or only found in America s past The value of the show WWYD and this book is to challenge our own choices when confronted with unethical behavior The heartening response that is witnessed on the show and within this book is the strength and courage of those who make the right choices and live those values Quinones writes that some participants in the show have confessed they made the choices witnessed on the show because they had watched WWYD in the past and decided how they would act if ever presented with a similar situation It sounds and reads so simply, but these choices are the most difficult Met John when I bought this book He was a classy man and so polite and friendly Great story about his life and experiences Quinones spoke to my school faculty last week, and much of what he said is in this book, verbatim This memoir of his life and career is short, easy to read, and inspirational, but I enjoyed his face to face presentation even better. Every day is full of what would you do moments They can be as simple as times when you re considering whether to bother saying thank you to the taxi driver before getting out of the cab Or they can be complicated, such as when you ve witnessed discriminating mistreatment of someone and you have to decide whether to speak up We ve all been there What Would You Do Doing the Right Thing Even When You Think No One s Watching is full of real life stories and staged ones from the highly rated ABC News program Author John Qui ones takes readers on a journey of self discovery and inspires them to act in ways they would if they thought a hidden camera was focused on them
